Kenmore Mercy honors Turley, LaMartina

KENMORE - While students and staff were on mid-winter Physicians at Kenmore Mercy Hospital have chosen two individuals to receive the hospital’s annual Medical Staff Award recognizing outstanding associates for their service to patients and staff.

This year’s recipients–David Turley, Environmental Services and Mary LaMartina, RN–were announced during a special ceremony at the hospital.

David Turley began his career at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in 1986 in the Environmental Services department, and has held that position through present time. He now has more than 25 years of service to the hospital. Turley’s current assignments include the main lobby, registration, and health informaton management, just to name a few. Turley is very kind to all hospital patients, visitors, and associates treating everyone with our core values. Mary LaMartina, RN, started her career at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in 1988 and began working in the ICU in 1992. In 2005, LaMartina obtained Critical-Care Registered Nurse certification, and is currently working to promote CCRN certification in the Intenstive Care Unit by coordinating weekly review classes with James Fitzpatrick, MD, vice president of medical affairs for Kenmore Mercy.

As ambassador for American Association of Critical-Care Nurses in the workplace, LaMartina helps to facilitate volunteers. She also holds the current position of secretary for the AACN – Western New York Chapter. In 2011 LaMartina became a member of Pathways to Excellence Committee and obtained her certification with Fundamental Critical Care Support.

Kenmore Mercy’s medical staff officers review nominees from throughout the hospital and honor two associates annually who live the hospital’s mission to reveal the healing love of Jesus to those in need.
