Garden Gate Health Care Facility is going to the birds

Garden Gate resident Veronica Husarek proudly sits in front of paper turkeys posted in the facility for the friendly competition that’s taking place between The McGuire Group’s five local health care facilities. Employees, residents and family members are raising money to purchase turkeys to be donated to the City Mission. When a monetary donation is made, a turkey is placed on the wall and the amount is recorded on a tracking sheet. Posters, like the one pictured, have also been displayed throughout the facility to encourage participation. At the end of each week the activity directors from each facility send their totals to one another to track. More than $700 has been raised so far. The residents will deliver the turkeys by the truckload in mid-December.

Garden Gate Health Care Facility provides 24-hour skilled nursing care, subacute and outpatient rehabilitation and respite/short-term care. For more information, visit www.mcguiregroup.com.
