Social media seminar to be held

The Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce will host a Social Media Marketing Seminar at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 20 at Empire State College, SUNY at the AppleTree Business Park, 2875 Union Road, Suite 34.
“We are very pleased to join with Empire State College, SUNY to bring this important and informative seminar to the business community,” said Debra S. Liegl, president and CEO of the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce. “Many small businesses have the desire to grow their business through social media marketing but Facebook, Twitter and Linked-In are almost foreign languages to them. This basic seminar that will take the fear out of social media marketing and show business owners and managers how to use various social media to drive customers to their business.”
“Whether you have been in business for years or are just starting your own business, it is important that you understand social media marketing and incorporate it in your overall business plan,” added Liegl.
Businesses that also market to other businesses would benefit from this seminar according to Liegl.
“Those businesses that sell to and/or provide services to other businesses will be able to take the information presented at this seminar and apply it to their business growth strategy,” she said.
Joel Goldberg, Assistant Professor, and Ken Ferree, Instructor, Business Management and Economics at Empire State College are presenting the seminar.
“Mr. Goldberg and Mr. Ferree bring their expertise in the field of social media to this seminar and we are very fortunate to work with them,” Liegl said.
The cost of the seminar for business members of the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce is $30 and the cost for non-members is $40.
