LANCASTER- The Lancaster Police Department will host a virtual ride-along with its road patrol officers on its Facebook page from 4 p.m. to midnight Friday, Dec. 21.
The officers will be listing calls for service in real time and posting photos and videos as they are able to. They will also try to answer any questions that you may have that evening.
Also, Lancaster Cap. William J. Karn Jr. is planning to show some "behind the scenes" activities such as the public safety dispatch center, some of their Emergency Response Team equipment, and some of the tools and equipment kept in the patrol vehicles.
“The goal of the virtual ride-along is to increase the public's awareness of our operations and also to increase participation in the department's Facebook page so that the public can be better informed and in turn share information with us,” remarked Capt. Karn.
