One book one community program at Lockport Library

“The Winter Sea” interweaves the lives of two ordinary women in two very different times who share a legacy of memories, love and courage.

Mark your calendars for the upcoming sixth annual One Book One Community program being held at the Lockport Public Library at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Wheeler Room.

Novelist Susanna Kearsley will be joining us for an author talk and book signing of her title, “The Winter Sea.”

Individual copies are available for purchase at the Lockport Public Library on floor two. The cost is $10. Copies will also be available to purchase the afternoon of the program.

Jeanette Sheliga will be facilitating a program “Connect with Your Ancestors: An Introduction to Researching Your Family Tree” in conjunction with the One Book One Community program. This will be held in the Community Room at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 1, no pre-registration required.

The library will also host a book discussion at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8, in the Sawyer Room.

“I think readers will enjoy the historical references to Scotland as well as the modern-day story that unfolds,” said Marianne Colton, program coordinator. “The programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Lockport Public Library. They are free and open to the public.”
