Lockport Main Street, Inc. is pleased to announce the grand prize winners of the 2012 third-grade pumpkin decorating contest.
The overall grand prize winners are Tyler Maxwell from Washington Hunt Elementary School and Theresa Beck from Roy B. Kelley Elementary School.
More than 300 third grade students from the Lockport City School District, DeSales Catholic School and Market Street Art Center decorated pumpkins this past Halloween.
The winning pumpkins were selected after the community voted for their favorites at downtown Lockport businesses, where the pumpkins were on display.
As the grand prize winners, Tyler and Theresa each received brand new bikes and helmets, generously donated by Niagara County Sheriff James R. Voutour.
In addition, every third grade class received a free pizza party courtesy of Papa Leo’s in Lockport, for participating in the contest. Pumpkins were generously donated by Niagara Produce of Lockport.
