CLARENCE - With the summer approaching quickly, despite apparent weather setbacks, the Clarence Chamber of Commerce is preparing for a number of events across what is to surely be a busy summer.
To kick off the season, the Chamber of Commerce will be hosting it’s Annual Golf Classic on Monday, June 4th, 2012. The event will take place at Arrowhead Golf Club, with admission set at $125 per golfer. The 18-hole contest will feature a number of contests and awards, designed not only to spicen up the event but make each part of it unique. The day’s events will feature a pre-lunch followed by a shotgun scramble format teeing off at 1 p.m. to decide the event’s victor.
Always playing a large role during the summer, the farmers market will begin June 2nd. The events and delicious spreads available are always a nice alternative and also a great way to support our local farmers throughout the area. The 100% volunteer market will look to make this year a memorable one, as it marks their 10th year of serving our proud area.
The number of alternative vendors from all around the surrounding areas of Clarence makes the market a must-visit atleast once throughout the summer months. There’s even a tease on the event’s website (clarencefarmersmarket.com) for a special attraction which is to take place for this season, only time will tell if it truly propels the market to it’s best season yet. (Those interested in becoming a vendor for the market can also do so through the organization’s site)
Last, and certainly not least is the Taste of Clarence 2012. Not to be outdone by the large one in the Queen City, Clarence and the Chamber of Commerce look to make this year’s event it’s best yet. Last year’s event showcased 21 restaurants, ranging from newcomers Quaker Steak and Lube to the Red Mill Inn. All of this excitement without even mentioning the Cruise Night that coincides with the local Taste, featuring tons of exciting live entertainment as well as hundreds of cars and vehicles on display. Anticipation for this year’s event will be at an all-time high, with further details on participating restaurants this year coming soon.
It certainly wasn’t a horrible winter by any means, but with this full slate of events coming at the very start of the June month it’s safe to say that the true Summer can’t come soon enough.
