Youth department to sponsor youth golf

The North Tonawanda Department of Youth, Recreation and Parks will conduct it’s annual Youth Golf Tournament at Deerwood Golf Course on Thursday, Aug. 16.
The tournament is open to all boys and girls who are North Tonawanda residents between the ages of 8 and 17. Awards will be presented in five separate age groups. All age groups will play nine holes. All participants except those with 2012 senior golf passes are required to purchase a $10 daily ticket.
Participants will register at the course the day of the tournament.
Boys 15 to 17 and 13 to 14 years old will report to the practice green by 8:20 a.m. Boys 11 to 12 and 10 years and under, and girls will report to the practice green by 8:50 a.m.
The awards will be presented and refreshments will be provided after play. For more information, call Wayne Christman, course supervisor at 695-8529.
