Coalition prepares to 'Rock the Village'

The Lancaster-Depew Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition will continue its emphasis on alcohol- and other drug-free activities by hosting the third annual Rock the Village concert series in July and August.
Bands Stasiapalooza, Fighting Francis and As Skies Burn are lined up to perform for two shows. The first concert will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 10 (rain date July 17) in the parking lot next to Save-A-Lot on North Aurora Street, Village of Lancaster. The second show will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14 (rain date Aug. 21) in the gazebo at Firemen’s Park, Terrace Boulevard at Erie Street, Depew.
Admission will be free, and food, giveaways and information about the coalition will be available.
The mission of the coalition is to prevent youth substance by addressing factors that increase the risk of abuse, highlighting positive opportunities for youth and promoting community collaboration. The coalition is mentored by Genesee/Orleans Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse. Parents, students and other community members are encouraged to join.
