Tired of paying high prices for tires?; go to Mr. Fox Tire Co.

There’s a reason why a local tire company has been in business for more than 57 years and the answer is priceless.

“The prices, you really can’t beat them,” said General Manager Jim Montante. “A lot of people don’t like driving all the way to the city, but there’s a reason they do. They’re gonna save some serious money on tires.”

Donald Fox and his partner Leon Kramer started Mr. Fox Tire Co. in 1955. Fox later took over the business by himself and was determined to provide customers with quality tires at the most affordable prices; which is exactly why it’s the largest independent dealer in WNY.

The corporation, located at 1035 William Street, Buffalo, currently has 15,000 new tires in stock and 30,000 used. They also have a complete service center, which provides everything from tire repairs and brake services, to oil changes.

There is winter tire storage available for people to switch out their summer tires and they even have roadside assistance for customers who need a flat fixed right away.

All the services that make customers come back for more.

“It’s basically word of mouth,” said Montante. “We have customers all these years that recommend their family and friends. Service is one big thing we hope for. We work on about 200 cars a day.”

The tire department has eight bays for employees to work in and the service department has 10 bays, making the turn around time for assistance, very quick.

“We have eight to 12 people working with tires, we have six certified techs in our mechanical department, and we have nine people at our counter to help customers,” said Montante.

The business is always one step ahead of them selves and already has 5,000 snow tires in stock for wintertime. The store carries Michelin, Firestone, General and all of the other major brands.

“And if there’s something we don’t have, we’ll get it for you,” said Montante.

The business is quite popular with Canadians as well, who are offered discounts and specials.

“We have people calling us when they are waiting on the Peace Bridge to tell us they are coming,” said Montante. We can save them $400 to $500 on a set of tires.”

Mr. Fox Tire also sells to independent dealers and garages. An average person is said to save anywhere from $25 to $75 on a set of tires.

The business is open Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sat. until 4 p.m. and Sun. until 1 p.m. For more information about what Mr. Fox Tire has to offer, visit www.MrFoxTire.com or call 856-1696.
