History Center to take part in annual Museum Day Sept. 29

On Sept. 29, the four venues of the Niagara County History Center will participate in “Museum Day,” presented by Smithsonian magazine.

On Museum Day, select museums and cultural institutions nationwide open their doors, free of charge, for area visitors. Celebrating culture, learning and knowledge, Museum Day reflects the spirit of the magazine, and emulates the free-admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

“The History Center has participated in Smithsonian Museum Day for eight years now and It’s always an honor be selected for this exciting national event that features many of the most notable museums in our country,” said Niagara County History Center Executive Director, Melissa Dunlap.

Last year more than 350,000 people attended Museum Day with hundreds of participating museums.
