After her husband retired they returned to Puerto Rico. At the age of 60 she began working for Warner Lambert and remained there until the mandatory retirement age of 65. They remained in Puerto Rico for 11 years. When her husband, who was 12 years her senior, began showing signs of aging they returned the U.S. to be close to family.
Carmen then volunteered at an adult day care center until she was 90. She was an active member of the Premera Iglesia Methodist Unida for more than 25 years. Carmen loves people and was always involved in her church and tenant associations in the buildings where she and her husband lived.
In her spare time, Carmen enjoyed crafting and needlepoint. She became a resident at The McGuire Group’s Seneca Health Care Center in February of 2011. She enjoys watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and the Christian Channel.
