Erie County Sheriff makes three arrests in the Southtowns

SPRINGVILLE — While patrolling on Sharp Street in the town of Concord on Saturday, July 28 at 3:50 a.m., Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy Don Hoelscher arrested Shannon L. Shiedel, 24, for driving while intoxicated, after he stopped her vehicle for failure to maintain lane.

A breath test revealed her blood alcohol content to be .09 percent. She was processed at the Springville Substation and released on appearance tickets.

Shiedel’s passenger, Duane Dearmyer, 29, of Springville, was arrested for criminal possession of controlled substances seventh. He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center.

After responding to an injury accident in Sprague Brook Park on Saturday, July 28 at 6:50 p.m., Hoelscher charged an 18-year-old North Tonawanda woman with reckless driving and other infractions.

She was traveling at an imprudent speed in the park, left the roadway and struck two campers, who received minor injuries. The two victims, a 19-year-old girl and her 15-year-old brother, were examined by first aid personnel on the scene and cleared.

The siblings went to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville as a precautionary measure.
