Class registration open for Lockport YMCA's fall session

The Lockport Family YMCA fall session will begin Sept. 10 and run through Oct. 27. There will be a variety of aquatics programs available for families.
All aquatics program emphasize personal growth, personal safety, stroke development, water sports and games and rescue.
Parent/Child water enrichment classes for parents in the water with their infants — 6 months to 3 years — will be held Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and evenings at 6:30 p.m., and also at 9:30, 10:15 and 11 a.m. Saturday mornings.
Preschool swim instruction for children 3 to 6 years — including kindergarten — will be held Monday and Wednesday afternoons and Tuesday and Thursday mornings, afternoons and evenings and also Saturday mornings.
Youth swim instruction — grades first and up — will be held Monday through Thursday afternoons, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and also Saturday mornings.
Swim Drills for your youth swimmer who will work on endurance, technique on all four competitive strokes, starts, turns and breathing will be held Monday and Wednesday 4:45 p.m. or Tuesday and Thursday 4:45 and 5:30 p.m.
The YMCA also offers one-on-one swim lessons all year round for youth and adults.
Birthday Parties host the party without the mess, book your next party at the YMCA, gym and pool parties available.
Water Fitness classes will be held Monday through Saturday mornings, Monday and Wednesday afternoons at 4 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m.
Rusty Hinges an aqua/arthritis class that takes joints through gentle range of motion. This class cannot rid the condition but can make it more bearable. This will be offered Monday through Thursday mornings. Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. and Tuesday and Thursday 10:30 a.m.
Active Older Adults hour swim is open for our community members who are 55 or older at a discounted rate of $3 an hour, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 1 p.m.
Swim Team practice will begin Sept. 17. Coaches will be working on swimmer’s technique and endurance. Swim team is for youth ages six and up. Practices are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening, with swim meets on Saturdays.
At Camp Kenan Swim Camp, swimmers — age 6 to 14 — will concentrate on one competitive stroke each day. Experience CK Day camp while getting ready for fall swim team. Aug. 20 to 24 and Aug. 27 to
31. Held at Camp Kenan parents can bring their swimmer directly to Camp or bring them to the Y and take advantage of the bus.
