The YWCA of the Tonawandas suggests Yoga

THE TONAWANDAS - The class, “Serenity Yoga For All Ages” - with certified instructor Romona Reinke - will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesdays, at the YWCA Tonawandas. Cost for members: $40; non-members $45 for four, one-hour sessions per month. First session begins Wednesday, Feb. 6. Enrollment closes Monday, Feb. 4.

What is Hatha Yoga?

Yoga is an invitation to explore. It is the healing and the joy to saying yes to life. Yoga is the union and movements guided from inside and connected with your breathing.

It is feeling the body receive its own truth and speaks the language of the soul. It is a learning process of movements and postures that can be a powerful gateway to a better body, soul and mind. Feeling good about yourself and having good and positive emotions. You learn different breathing techniques which unites the body with the mind.

Yoga consists of a series of slow, gentle stretches along with deep steady breathing. It strengthens all your body muscle. It helps to gain and re-gain more flexibility and balance. Practicing yoga is about having fun, laughs and smiles.

Detoxify the body, oxygenate the blood, gives exchange of air, helps blood circulation, improves concentration, stability, steadiness, focus, concentration, calm the mind and increases clarity. Yoga has been extremely helpful in relieving joints pain, arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia. It is great for sciatic nerve pains and excellent for movement disorders.

Life is such a pleasurable, graceful, joyful adventure. This is a wonderful way to release stress, anxiety, depression, and mental fatigue. It’s a great way to relax and meditate. It soothes the soul, fostering vitality in people of all ages and levels of experience. Yoga teaches all kind of movements and postures and it can be a powerful benefit to self healing.
