EGER, Joseph R., 93, of Tonawanda, passed away Dec. 14, 2012; beloved husband of the late Eleanor G. (nee Gesel) Eger; loving father of Ann E. (Joseph) Thuman, Mary P. (James) Konrad, Ruth A. Eger and Monica M. (Joseph) Hens; cherished grandfather of Alex J., Kathryn Rose Konrad, Emily Anne, Benjamin J. Thuman, David J. and Eric J. Hens; caring brother of Wilbert D. and the late Albert L. Eger.
RIBBLE, Nelson C., PhD “Rib,” 87, of Tonawanda, passed away Dec. 14, 2012; loving companion of the late Emma Melancon; beloved father of Donna Lee LaBarbara, Mary Jo (Helene Brosius) Marino and Corinne (David Shank) Melancon; dear brother of Shirley McNutt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VA of WNY Healthcare System Voluntary Services.
VACCARO, Josephine R. “Josie,” of North Tonawanda, passed away Dec. 14, 2012; beloved wife of the late Joseph V. Vaccaro; devoted mother of William J. (Patricia) and Joanne M. Vaccaro; grandmother of Christopher M. Vaccaro.
MARSHALL, Michael K., of Tonawanda, passed away Dec. 17, 2012; beloved husband of 45 years to Annette M. Marshall (nee LoVecchio); dearest father of Krista Oarcea, Dr. Keri (Douglas “Duffy”) Marshall-Mackay; survived by five loving grandchildren; dear brother of Patricia (Thomas) Shanley and Edward (Amy) Koban.
Marshall was a Vietnam Veteran in the U.S. Marine Corp, and a recipient of the Purple Heart medal. He was a supermarket executive for the Peter J. Schmitt Company, and a retiree of Super Value.
He was a culinary expert known for his “open door policy,” generosity and his homemade limoncello. Marshall and his wife enjoyed extensive world travel; he was also a devoted grandfather who instilled a passion for the outdoors in all of his grandchildren.
