Walter Henry Lerminiaux Sr., 85, of Springville, died Feb. 7 at his home.
He was born in Springville on Sept. 3, 1927 to the late Frank and Rose (nee Guzzy) Lerminiaux.
He had worked at Peerless-Winsmith, was a member of the Quarter Century Club, played golf and bowled.
He was a vegetable gardener. He ran a vegetable stand, Walt’s Market.
He was the husband of Violet Lerminiaux; father of Walter (Ann) Lerminiaux, Laura Nason and Lisa (William) Woolston; grandfather of Scott, Peter, Christiann, Natalie, Miranda and Alexa; brother of Frank (Carol) Lerminiaux, Rose Marie (Michael) Cieslak and the late Edward (Florence) Lerminiaux, Henry (Margaret) Lerminiaux and Sophia (Kenneth) Monnin; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at St. Aloysius Church in Springville on Saturday, March 16 at 11 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital.

Hazel M. Mahnk of West Valley died Feb. 10 at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, following an illness.
She was born July 19, 1922 in Machias to George and Rose (nee Couter) Wurst. She married Harold Mahnk on June 21, 1939.
She worked in a woolen mill and at Fancher Furniture, both in Salamanca. She retired from Motorola Inc. of Arcade, after 19 years of service. She was also a cook and a seamstress.
She was the wife of the late Harold Mahnk; mother of the late Norman Mahnk and Ronald Mahnk; grandmother of Barry (Marie) Mahnk of West Valley and Darryl (Cindy) Mahnk of Franklinville; great-grandmother of Jack (Roxann) Sutherland, Wendy Mahnk, Alex Mahnk and Jacob Mahnk; great-great-grandmother of Aidan Sutherland; mother-in-law of Judith Mahnk of Salamanca; companion of the late Paul Linsler.
A funeral service was held from the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, located at 7 North Main St. in Franklinville, on Feb. 14. The Rev. Tim Griffith of the Salamanca Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery in West Valley. Memorials may be made to the West Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
