Ronald Albee

Ronald Albee
A celebration of Ronald E. Albee’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12 at the United Methodist Church in Springville. Albee had been a member of that church for many years. His ashes will be interred in the church columbarium.

Albee, 81, of Kings Point, Sun City Center, Fla., passed away Oct. 13 after a short illness at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa.

He was born in 1930 in Ashley, Pa. to Arnot and Eva Albee. He married Dorothy Carlson in 1952 and the couple moved to Springville in 1955. After 32 years of service, he retired from Peerless Winsmith in 1992. He and his wife then spent winters in Gulfport, Fla. and moved permanently to Kings Point, Sun City Center, in 2005.

Albee served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge, where he was the worshipful master of the Springville Lodge in 1985.

He was the husband of 59 years of Dorothy (nee Carlson) Albee, brother-in-law of Nancy Albee of Ashley and Lee Albee of Clearwater, Fla.

Quintille Sue Gouldin, 53, of Rockingham, N.C., died Friday, April 20 at her sister Melinda’s home in Aberdeen, N.C.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Harrington Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, with The Rev. Darwin Cook’s officiating.

Sue was born Aug. 15, 1958 in Miami, the daughter of Harvey and Marie Bean Sutton. She attended Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church and previously worked in textiles.

She is preceded in death by her mother and a sister, Sherry Marie Eucare.

She is survived by her father, Harvey Sutton of Springville; daughter Dee Chavis Lovin of Rockingham, N.C., son Archie “June Bug” Chavis of Cordova, N.C., seven grandchildren, sisters LaDonna Brigman of Marston, Melinda “Bit” Conner of Aberdeen, N.C. and Diane Lane of Hamlet, N.C. and brothers Larry Wayne Williamson of Trinity, N.C., Roger Smith of Hamlet, N.C. and Johnny Victors of Hamlet, N.C.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in Sue’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Gifts, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
