Obituaries for The Tonawandas/Kenmore for the week of Sunday, Aug. 19

ALAGNA , Jennie V. (nee Pandolfi), 95, of Kenmore, passed away Aug. 9; beloved wife of the late Samuel F. Alagna; loving mother of Joanne M. (Roger) Alagna-Cyran, Mary Frances and Samuel V. Alagna, Jr.; cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; dear sister of John Pandolfi; also survived by nieces and nephews.

BRONSCHIDLE, Rose (nee Baumgartner), 87, of Tonawanda, passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late John and Magdalena (nee Kolb) Baumgartner. A lifelong resident of Tonawanda, Bronschidle was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the Tonawanda Senior Citizens. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Bronschidle, who died in 1989.

She is survived by her three daughters, Karen (William) St. Jean of Tonawanda, New York, JoAnn (Mark Pruzan) Bronschidle of Mahopac, New York, and Janet M. Bronschidle of Clinton, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Lisa and William St. Jean and Katherine and Jeffrey Pruzan; and many nieces and nephews.

If desired, memorials to the A.L.S. Association, 890 7th North Street, Suite 108, Liverpool, NY 13088, are preferred by the family.

HEIDER, Donald L., 81, of North Tonawanda, passed away Monday, Aug.13, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late William and Louise (nee Luescher) Heider. A Navy Veteran of the Korean War, Heider had been employed at Erie Community College as a maintenance supervisor and Northtown Collision before retiring. He was the brother of the late Kenneth, Ray and Richard Heider, and Betty Scullion, and step-brother of the late Robert Dent.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Heider; his step-son, Mark S. Lacey of North Tonawanda; two grandsons, Ryan Lacey and Jeffrey Wozniak; and his brother, James (Priscilla) Heider of North Tonawanda. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

If desired, memorials to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240-0631, are preferred by the family.

HOLTHAM, Norman L., 69, of Tonawanda, passed away Aug. 14; beloved father of Kevin L. (Kristina) and Jeffrey Holtham; cherished grandfather of Paul and Sean Holtham; caring brother of Thomas W. (late Vera) Jr., Richard J. (Cathy) Holtham, Harriette (Frank) Wojciechowski, Kathy (late Fred) Gutowski and Stephen J. (Candace) Holtham; also survived by nieces and nephews.

Norman was a volunteer fireman for the Kenmore Volunteer Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Norm’s name to the Kenmore Fire Department.
