Frank Bauer
Frank W. Bauer, 76, of West Valley passed away July 23, at his home.
He was born in 1935, the son of Wolfgang and Mary (nee Paschl) Bauer.
He was a mechanic at Bartlett Buick and at Wal-Mart Super Center in Springville. His hobbies included dancing, watching wrestling and working on jigsaw puzzles.
He was the husband of the late Carol (nee Fetes) Bauer; father of Dr. Heidi (Richard) Skelly; grandfather of two grandchildren; brother of Rose Vignola of Nashua, N.H. and Johanna Falcone of Hamburg.
A viewing will be held Sunday, July 29 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 East Main St., Springville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 30 at 10 a.m. from St. John the Baptist Church in West Valley. The Rev. Lawrence Cobel will officiate. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Church of West Valley.

Michael Cole
Michael J. Cole, 43, of Lima, died July 9 as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Lima.
He was born in Olean in 1968, the son of Mazie (nee Eastland) Cole and the late Bernard Cole. He married the former Camille Keleher of Colden in 2003.
Mike graduated from Pioneer Central School and attended Jamestown Community College for two years. He was a salesman for Voortman Cookies.
He coached T-ball for the Red Wilson League in Lima, coached Honeoye Falls-Lima youth soccer, was a host parent to international students Jay and Kimmie and was a former member of the Yorkshire Fire Department.
He was the husband of Camille (nee Keleher) Cole; son of Mazie (nee Eastland) and the late Bernard Cole of Machias; father of Kyler and Ethan Cole of Lima; stepfather of Sasha Rosier; brother of Gordon (Caroline) Cole of Asheville, N.C., Donald (Patricia) Cole of Franklinville, James (Jennifer Lathrop) Cole of Machias, Beverly (William Prosser) Beals of Delevan and Patricia (Joseph) Sherwood of Delevan; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held July 13 from the Salem Lutheran Church in Springville. Pastor Jim Lagnese officiated. Burial was in McKinstry Cemetery in Delevan.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Five Star Bank, where a trust fund has been set up for Mike’s sons.
