LANCASTER- LATHROP - Elizabeth B. of Lancaster passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at the age of 88. The daughter of the late Clarence and Edna (Long) Beeman, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Lathrop. Elizabeth was the loving mother of Carol Sheffer of Troy, NY and David (Sigrid) Lathrop of Round Rock, TX. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Erika (Hassan) Riddick of Colonie, NY, Nancy (Brian) Angelo of Loudonville, NY and Meredith S. Lathrop of Austin, TX, as well as great-grandchildren Hassan, Jr., Nicole, Renee, Olivia and Victoria Riddick. Elizabeth retired from Scott Aviation in 1988 and was an active member of the Lancaster Presbyterian Church, Lancaster Civic Club, Town and Country Garden Club and the Friends of the Lancaster Library. Visitation of friends and family was held Wednesday at the Wendel and Loecher Funeral Home, in Lancaster. Following interment at Clarence Fillmore Cemetery, a memorial service was held Thursday at the Lancaster Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elizabeth's memory to Shriners Children's Hospital or Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd, Rensselaer, NY, 12144.
