Scout troop makes a difference

LANCASTER- I had the privilege and honor of spending Patriots Day working with Mark Bennett, his family, and his fellow Scouts and their family and friends in rehabilitating the maintenance building and pump house at the Lancaster Rural Cemetery.
Mark is working toward his Eagle badge in his Scout Troop. They along with help from Justin Bennett, no relation, as manager of The Sherwin Williams store on Transit Road spent their time and money to beautify the resting place of the brave veterans of numerous wars, their families, and the others who are at rest in this non-sectarian historical cemetery.
I would hope in the future the Town of Lancaster, Village of Lancaster and Depew can come together and work with the cemetery to preserve this historical asset in our community.
It was just as important seeing the family units working together for the good of the community. Thank you and well done to all those involved.
