Does everyone have to walk around in bulletproof vests?

I must say I am much more aware of my surroundings lately than ever before and there is a good reason for it.

How can I feel safe when insane individuals are shooting children in schools, or patrons in movie theatres and on Christmas Eve a twisted man set a house on fire and then shot the firemen who tried to put it out.

Are we all going to have to wear bulletproof vests before we leave our house? The firefighters who protect us not only have to worry about losing their lives in a fire but now they have to worry that they are going to be shot for doing their job. Patrons have to wonder if there is enough security in movie theatres before they can relax and enjoy their popcorn and students must fear for their lives at school, when they are supposed to be learning.

I know many people are citing the problem to gun control but I believe the real problem is that these insane people are allowed to walk our streets. Someone had to have known that these men were capable of destruction and yet no one stood up to make sure that this didn’t happen.

Not to mention, what is wrong with our justice system?

The man who killed the firefighters was known to have brutally murdered his grandmother with a hammer years ago and yet he wasn’t in prison. He should have been locked up for the rest of his life but he wasn’t and there is no good answer as to why.

If we keep letting these people walk our streets we are all doomed. We can’t leave our homes everyday and fear for our lives, it just isn’t right. These types of incidents didn’t happen years ago and if they did, they were very miniscule to what they are now.

The other day when I was leaving the supermarket I felt someone walking fast behind me and I quickly became alarmed. This person turned out to be just in a hurry but I became very scared because of all the recent massacres. If mentally insane people are allowed to do whatever they want and live in our society then we all must be fearful. These individuals are filled with evil and there is no telling what they may do next. If we want to stop incidents like this in the future we have to make sure that these people are locked up for good, where they can never hurt anyone else ever again.
