New York State Police report for Oct. 21

• Heather Gearman, 27, no address given, was charged Oct. 7 with DWI after being stopped on West Main Street, Gowanda, for making an illegal left turn off South Water Street, onto West Main Street.

According to authorities, the Trooper followed Gearman into the Community Bank parking lot where she was stopped; also she had a reportable B.A.C. of .11 percent.

Gearman is due in Persia Town Court.

• Avril Stepowski, 48, of North Road, Perrysburg, was arrested Oct. 11 on a warrant issued by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, charging her with forgery.

According to authorities, Stepowski’s car had run out of gas on Bush Road and a Trooper stopped to provide assistance.

A computer check determined that Stepowski was wanted in Las Vegas.

Stepowski was arraigned in Brant Town Court and sent to Erie County Holding Center, awaiting extradition to Nevada.

• Susan Junghans, 27, of Route 62 in Dayton, was charged Oct. 12 with illegal burning, in violation of the NYS Environmental Conservation Law (ENCON).

According to authorities, Troopers received a call from Troopers in Jamestown; Junghans was allegedly burning her husband’s property. He was in the Jamestown area.

Troopers say that when they arrived, a large fire was burning in the front yard, with clouds of smoke rolling across Route 62.

An ENCON officer and Dayton Fire Department were called to the scene. The fire department doused the flames.

Junghans is due in Dayton Town Court.
