• Trevor D. Gernatt, 21, of Collins, was charged Sept. 15 with felony DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, resisting arrest, second-degree obstruction and multiple traffic infractions after his motorcycle was stopped in Collins for no headlight or helmet.
According to authorities, the Deputy attempted to stop Gernatt on North Division Street near Brown Road, but Gernatt fled on foot into the woods. After a short foot chase Gernatt was taken into custody.
Gernatt was transported to Erie County Holding Center to await arraignment.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office Deputies from the North Collins Substation responded to 130 calls from Sept. 10 to 17.
• Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a complaint of a hit-and-run accident on Wheater Road in Collins Sept. 10.
According to authorities, a road-rage incident led to the accident, and an 18-year-old from Gowanda was cited for leaving the scene of a property-damage accident.
