• Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports a motor vehicle accident July 1, involving a pedestrian, which occurred on State Route 438 (Seneca Nation of Indians) that resulted in a 25-year-old Gowanda man being taken by Mercy Flight to E.C.M.C. for treatment of his injuries.
According to authorities, at approximately 2:56 a.m. a vehicle operated by Jason Dunning, 31, of Dayton, was traveling south bound on Route 438 when it came in contact with a pedestrian who was walking along the roadway. The pedestrian, Christopher Denea, 25, of Gowanda, was transported to E.C.M.C. for treatment of multiple, non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit.
