Police and fire report from the week of may 10

Timothy T. Smith, 30, of Gowanda was taken to State Police barracks in Collins where he recorded a blood alcohol content of .13 percent. Smith was charged with driving while intoxicated, insufficient tail lights, and unlawful possession of marijuana. He is scheduled to appear in the town of Collins Court on May 23, at 7 p.m.
Concord man arrested after going in ditch
Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy Donald Hoelscher responded to a report of a vehicle’s striking a mailbox and going into a ditch on Trevett Road in the town of Concord on Sunday, April 29, at 2:43 a.m.
During the investigation, Hoelscher discovered that the driver, Randall W. Keen, 40, of Concord, was intoxicated. Keen was arrested and a breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .16 percent.
He was released, to appear at the town of Concord Court at a future date.
Machias man charged after traffic stop
Donald R. Pixley, 62, of Machias was arrested for driving while intoxicated after being stopped for speeding and failure to keep right on Route 16 in Machias on Wednesday, April 18.
Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies observed Pixley’s traveling at a high rate of speed and stopped his vehicle after he crossed the center line.
Pixley was determined to be intoxicated after tests were administered and he was charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent, failure to keep right and speed in a 55-mph zone. He is due back in the town of Machias Court.
Springville man arrested for DWI
While on patrol in Springville on May 5 at approximately 3:04 a.m., Deputy Ben Pisa arrested Richard J. Zuppelli Jr., 33, of Springville and charged him with driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated unlicensed operation and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle on Cattaraugus Street.
A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .12 percent. The felony charge was filed due to Zuppelli’s license being revoked for a prior DWI arrest. He was processed at the Springville Substation and released on appearance tickets.
Woman charged with DWI
Rachel L. Lukeman, 22, of Concord was arrested Friday morning, April 27, at 4:45 a.m. after Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy Ben Pisa stopped her vehicle for equipment violations on Elk Street in the village of Springville.
Lukeman was charged with driving while intoxicated and traffic infractions, including open alcoholic beverage. A breath test revealed her blood alcohol content to be .16 percent, twice the legal limit.
She was processed at the Springville substation and released on appearance tickets.
Ontario woman charged following accident
Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a two-car accident on Sunday afternoon, April 15 at 2:23 p.m. at Otto-Maples and Toad Hollow roads in the town of Mansfield.
A 2003 Dodge Neon owned by Cassie Rimmer, 68, of Milton, Ontario and driven by Dione L. Rimmer, 47, of Mississauga, Ontario, was traveling north on Toad Hollow Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. A vehicle owned and operated by Stephanie Avery, was traveling eastbound on Otto-Maples Road and struck Rimmer’s vehicle.
All parties involved in the incident were taken to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville for treatment of minor injuries. Rimmer was issued a uniform traffic ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign. East Otto, Otto, Mansfield, Ellicottville and Little Valley firefighters responded to the accident.
