Police reports from the Lockport Police Department.
May 23
Charged
Kenneth S. Thompson, 19, 383 Mill St., Lockport was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration May 23.
The reporting officer was traveling west on Main Street approaching Pine Street, when Thompson began to make circles in the roadway in the path of vehicles with his bike.
The group was stopped and interviewed. The parties were told of his violations and Thompson did not agree.
Thompson was allegedly uncooperative and was told to get off his bike. At that time, Thompson reportedly stated “no” and began to pedal away.
Police ran after and grabbed the suspect, placing him on the ground to detain him.
May 25
Possession
Stephen W. Coast, 23, 781 Lewiston Road, Basom, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana May 25.
A vehicle was stopped for an expired registration.
While interviewing the driver, there was an odor of marijuana reportedly coming from the vehicle.
Patrol also observed several empty, little, clear baggies scattered throughout the vehicle.
Patrol asked the driver if he had anything illegal in the vehicle and he stated he had five bags of marijuana with a gram in each, located in the center counsel.
Patrol had the driver exit the vehicle and located the green, leafy vegetable matter.
It field-tested positive for the presence of marijuana.
DWI
Andrew J. Gilinger, 19, 102 Buell Ave., Cheektowaga was charged with driving while intoxicated May 25.
Patrol conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle making a traffic violation.
Upon interviewing the driver, Gilinger, an odor of an alcoholic beverage could be detected and he also allegedly had glassy, bloodshot eyes.
Several field sobriety tests were conducted, which he failed. He was taken into custody without incident and provided a breath sample, which had a reading of .10 percent.
May 26
Possession
Elliott E. Sigbert, 60, 503 Park Ave., Apt. 2, Lockport was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana May 26.
Patrol was traveling on Park Avenue when they noticed a strong odor of marijuana in the air. Patrol stopped, noticing a group of people sitting at a park bench in the parking lot.
Sigbert had a pack of zig zag rolling papers and a pouch of tobacco in front of him. He reportedly turned over the pouch of tobacco, which contained a baggy of green, leafy substance inside of it.
The bag was collected as evidence. The substance field-tested positive for marijuana.
DWI
Julio C. Vazquez, 28, 5757 Glendale Drive, Apt. A, Lockport was charged with driving while intoxicated and several traffic violations May 26.
The reporting officers attempted to stop a black Ford Expedition traveling southbound on Transit Street for speeding.
The vehicle did not yield to patrol and police pursued the vehicle until it stopped on Londonnaire Drive.
The driver of the vehicle allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. He also could not speak English.
The driver was transported to Lockport Police Department where he was administered several field sobriety tests by an officer who is fluent in Spanish. Based on Vazquez’s performance during the field sobriety tests, he was charged with DWI.
