Erie County Sheriff’s Office
Erie County sheriff’s deputies responded to several calls from April 7 - April 13. Following is a sampling of the incidents in Boston, Colden, Concord, Sardinia and the village of Springville:

Boston
- April 10, Patrol arrested Michelle Nowakowski, 42, of Boston on an outstanding warrant. She was turned over to the Niagara Frontier Transit Authority. The arrest took place on Boston State Road.

Colden
- April 12, Patrol investigated a personal injury auto accident on State Road. One subject was transported to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital for evaluation.

Concord
- April 4, Patrol arrested Joshua French, 25, of Colden for felony driving while intoxicated and felony aggravated unlicensed operation. The arrest took place on Allen Road.

Sardinia
- April 10, Patrol investigated report of larceny of items from a vehicle on Allen Road.

Springville
- April 7, Patrol Arrested Andrew Lundberg, 25, of Glenwood for DWI and other related charges. Lundberg submitted to a breath test, with results’ being .15 percent blood alcohol content. He was released to appear in Springville Court at a later date. The arrest took place on South Cascade Drive.
- April 9, Patrol arrested David Starks, 47, of Ashford on an outstanding warrant. The arrest took place on Franklin Street.
- April 9, Patrol arrested Sydni Hawley-Suckow of Springville for petit larceny after she was caught shoplifting on South Cascade Drive. She was released on an appearance ticket to appear in Springville Court at a later date.
- April 12, Patrol arrested Debra Smith, 26, of Buffalo and Samantha Steiner, 21, of Machias for petit larceny after they were caught shoplifting on South Cascade Drive. They were released on appearance tickets to appear in Springville Court at a later date.

- April 9, 7:56 a.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid on West Main Street. Transported to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital.
- April 9, 11:37 a.m., East Concord firefighters responded to a first aid on Genesee Road. Rural Metro Ambulance transported to Women and Children’s Hospital, Buffalo.
- April 9, 12:43 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid on North Buffalo Street. Transported to BCH.
- April 10, 11:24 p.m., Chaffee-Sardinia firefighters responded to a fire alarm activation on Olean Road.
- April 11, 3:43 p.m., Chaffee-Sardinia firefighters responded to a first aid on Warner Gulf Road. Transported to BCH.
- April 11, 6:46 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a Mercy Flight assist at BCH.
- April 12, 1:04 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid to a first aid on West Main Street. Rural Metro Ambulance transported to BCH.
- April 14, 1:36 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid on West Main Street. Transported to BCH.
- April 14, 4:23 p.m., Chaffee-Sardinia firefighters responded to an electrical pole fire on Savage Road.
- April 15, 4:25 p.m., Springville firefighters responded to a first aid on West Main Street.
- April 15, 7:31 p.m., East Concord firefighters responded to a first aid on Genesee Road. Transported to BCH.
- April 15, 10:47 p.m., Chaffee-Sardinia firefighters responded to a first aid on Route 39.

Troopers make arrest in Collins
At 10 o’clock, Wednesday morning, April 4, troopers in Collins arrested John C. Jemiolo, 58, of Gowanda for felony driving while intoxicated after he was stopped on Route 62 in the town of Collins.

Troopers observed Jemiolo’s driving erratically and stopped him for driving southbound in the northbound lane of Route 62. He had been arrested six times for DWI and was last convicted in 2004. Jemiolo will appear before the town of Collins Court later this month.

Women arrested after accident

Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy Timothy Colling responded to Lower East Hill Road in the town of Boston following a report of a rolled vehicle south of Wohlhueter Road on April 4. Upon arrival, Colling discovered the driver, 56-year-old Mary Vella, showed signs of intoxication. She was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Vella was taken to the Erie County Sheriff’s substation in Springville, where she submitted to a chemical breath test, that showed her blood alcohol content to be .13 percent.

She was given several uniform traffic tickets and released to a third party and is to return to the town of Concord Court at a later date.

Three sent to hospital after Jeep vs. Mustang accident
According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, East Concord resident Dominick F. Drumsta Jr., 53, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Leon Road and State Route 353 in the town of New Albion on April 6 and entered into the path of a 2010 Ford Mustang that was traveling south on Route 353.

The owner and operator of the Mustang, Susan E. Korbar, 56, of Gowanda, hit Drumsta’s 2002 Jeep at approximately 1:30 p.m. Korbar was flown to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight with injuries.

The Jeep was occupied by Drumsta and a passenger, Linda S. Drumsta, 48, of East Concord. The injured Dominick Drumsta was taken to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital by ambulance and his passenger was flown by Mercy Flight to ECMC, where she was listed in critical condition.

The investigation of the accident is ongoing. Drumsta and Korbar are both listed as having been released from the hospital.
