Oct. 19

Unlawful possession of marijuana

Hussein Nasser, 21, of Hudson Street, Buffalo was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana.

According to a police report, the offender was parked behind JJ’s Texas Red Hots, Cheektowaga, which was closed at the time. When police pulled up to investigate, the offender attempted to pull away. When the officer approached Nasser, he stated he was just sitting and talking with his friend. The officer noticed a case of blunt boxes on the floor of the vehicle. After conducting a search of the vehicle, the officer found half of a blunt in the center console, with marijuana inside of it. There was also a plastic bag containing marijuana as well, which offender stated was his. The offender was arrested and taken to police headquarters for booking.

Petit Larceny

Yvonne Kanehl, 50, of Kensington Avenue, Buffalo was arrested for petit larceny.

According to a police report, a Target employee stated that he saw the offender select merchandise, and then conceal it in a drawstring bag. The offender then attempted to leave the business without making any attempt to pay. The offender was placed under arrest and taken to police headquarters. The bag that the offender used had a hole cut into the lining, in order to further conceal items, so she was also charged with possession of burglary tools.

DWI

Justin Heighington, 33, of Morel Drive, Ontario, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

According to a police report, an officer noticed the offender driving erratically on Genesee Street. The right tires completely swerved over the lane divider markings several times. The officer noticed several signs of intoxication and had the offender perform several sobriety tests, which he failed. Offender was transported to police headquarters, where he refused a chemical test. He was held to see the judge.

Petit Larceny

Lymara Agate, 52, of Greenway Road, Amherst, was arrested for petit larceny.

According to a police report, an employee saw the offender pick up property from the sales floor, and then conceal the merchandise in her shopping bag. She then walked out of the store, passing all points of sale without paying. The employee held the offender until police arrived. She was taken into custody and booked for her charges.

Oct. 23

Petit Larceny

Alfred Cooper, 58, of Westminster Avenue, Buffalo was arrested for petit larceny.

According to a police report, a manager pointed out a vehicle that had a shoplifter inside. Officers found 13 toothbrushes stuffed in the offender’s shirt. The employee said he observed the offender take the toothbrushes off of the shelf, and stuff them in his shirt, while on the retail floor. While back at police headquarters, two hypodermic syringes were found in the offender’s right inner coat pocket. The offender was booked and held to see the judge.

Oct. 24

Criminal possession of a controlled substance

Alec Swiderski, 24, of Kamper Street, Buffalo was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance.

According to a police report, officers were dispatched to a location due to a disturbance involving an intoxicated male swearing and breaking objects. While searching the offender for weapons, the offender stated that he had pills and that those pills would get him in trouble. A witness stated that they heard the offender outside shouting “I am going to blow up the neighborhood.” The offender was belligerent while being transported to police headquarters. A “spit shield” was placed on the offender’s head while the offender was escorted to his cell. The offender was booked on his charges and released on $250 cash bail.

Criminal possession of a controlled substance

Woodrow Abrams, 42, of William Street, Cheektowaga and Krishna Stewart, 26, of Swan Street, Buffalo were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance.

According to a police report, officers found a marijuana stem on the rear seat of the vehicle. While conducting a search, officers found a cigarette box in the passenger door handle, containing a plastic baggie, with a portion of a pill inside. Stewart stated that she purchased the box from a guy at a gas station and did not know exactly what the pill was, and said she thought it might be “Ecstasy.” After a check of Abram’s license, it was found that his license was suspended for failure to submit a breath test in 1992. The two were placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for booking.

Driving with a .18 percent BAC

Donald Macneil, 47, of Peppertree Drive, Amherst was arrested for driving with a .18 percent BAC.

According to a police report, the offender was involved in a crash. He was driving northbound on Dick Road and made a left turn in front of another vehicle. The officer said the offender had an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath, and seemed drunk. The offender was transported to police headquarters where he took several sobriety tests and failed. He was held to see the judge.

Oct. 28

Driving with a .18 percent BAC

Nicholas Herdlein, 30, of Huth Road, Cheektowaga was arrested for driving with a .18 percent BAC.

According to a police report, the offender was pulled over on George Urban and Dick Road, for erratic driving. The officer noticed several signs of intoxication and had the offender perform several sobriety tests, which he failed. He was taken to police headquarters where he was booked and released on a summons. His vehicle was towed.
