Man sentenced to jail for criminal contempt

On Thursday, July 5 a Buffalo man was sentenced to four months in jail for violating an order of protection issued by Buffalo City Court Cheektowaga Town Justice Paul Piotrowski gave Edward J. Williams, 45 of Bryson St. Buffalo, a 4 month sentence to the Erie County Correction Facility for punching a woman in the face and then biting her in the hand while at Noco Gas Station located at 4590 Genesee St. in Cheektowaga on May 30 of this year.
He was arrested by Niagara Frontier Transit Authority Police and charged with Criminal Contempt First Degree and Harassment. The female victim had an order of protection on file against Williams at the time.
Williams pled guilty to Criminal Contempt. He had 2 prior convictions for Criminal Contempt as a result of violating orders of protections and was sentenced by Judge Paul Piotrowski on the current conviction Thursday.
