WVCS teacher named a WNY teacher of merit

Business First has named Amy Butler of West Valley as one of its 2012 list of 25 teachers of merit in Western New York.Butler’s selection was based upon recommendations of high school seniors, awards won, standardized test scores, extracurricular involvement and other considerations.
The teacher has worked at West Valley Central School in various roles since 1989. She is currently a sixth grade teacher, but has also filled the roles of classroom helper, certified teacher and a coach at all ages and levels of several sports.
“The best part about being a teacher, for me, is that I get to make a lifetime connection with the youth of my community,” Butler said.
