Supplies from the Springville-GI support staff

ON A MISSION — Pictured with their pets and supplies donated to the SPCA are, from left, front: Candi Dinse and Barb Garton. Back: Kathleen Unger and Peggy Hess, teaching assistants at S-GI.
The SPCA facility in North Tonawanda has new towels, bedding, food, toys and treats for their animals thanks to a drive conducted by the support staff at Springville-Griffith Institute Central School.

The drive was a continuation of the staff’s stated mission to support S-GI’s students, surrounding communities and organizations.

The support staff bargaining unit has also contributed toward gift baskets for charitable events and benefits, the Relay for Life children’s tent, Christmas caroling at area nursing homes, volunteering at the Springville Stampede and funding for the School to Work Award, given annually to a high school student.

Kathleen Unger said that the group is planning a “Kick off to Fall” food drive for Springville’s food pantry among its members this fall.
