Local group holds last 2012 meeting

PLANNING FOR NEXT YEAR — The East Concord Home Bureau’s last meeting of 2012 was held June 12 at the Concord Town Hall.
The East Concord Home Bureau held its closing meeting of the year on June 12, with a luncheon and white elephant silent auction. Completed projects were also shared, during the event.

The home bureau is a member of the New York State Federation of Home Bureaus, an organization that was established across New York state in the early 20th century to provide new information on household economics and management.

A statement of ideals, which the East Concord branch recites at each meeting, was authored by home economics Professor Ruby Green Smith.

During East Concord Home Bureau meetings, crafts and community service projects are completed. Members also sponsor a financial scholarship to a graduating high school senior.

The bureau meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. – noon and on the occasional fourth Tuesday, from September – June.
