AQHA Trail Challenge Sept. 29

The Leon Historical Society meeting is Sept. 24 at the Historical Church; bring dish to pass for 6 p.m. supper and the meeting starts around 7 p.m. 

The Society is getting ready for AQHA Trail Challenge and Fall Festival. 

Leon’s first-ever AQHA Trail Challenge will be held Sept. 29 at the Leon Highway Department. The event start with a 7:30 a.m. signup and 8:30 Pre-Walk meeting. There will be two Divisions: AQHA and All-Breed divisions. Pre-register by Sept. 22 to take $5 off per division.

Ribbon and a new saddle will be awarded in addition to other donations that have been received.

Immediately following the Challenge there will be a horsemanship clinic with clinician Luke Reinbold.

Other activities and features of the day include: crafts, wagon rides, Amish goods, homemade ice cream by the Amish and food tent. Also, at the Historical Church  there will be a special show with Cal Baker and "Easter Lilly, the Miniature Horse."
