Hall impresses for unbeaten Sacred Heart

La'Trice Hall has been a standout during an unbeaten season for Sacred Heart.
Sacred Heart forward La’Trice Hall is having a brilliant season for the undefeated Sharks. The 5-foot-9 senior has been a big reason why Sacred Heart is currently sitting atop the Monsignor Martin League in girls basketball.

Hall uses her size to impose her will on her opponents. She very rarely gets out-muscled for rebounds and loose balls.

Sacred Heart’s star senior is also quite nimble on her feet for a forward. Equipped with impressive passing skills, Hall is certain to draw plenty of attention from opponents every game.

Even with opponents dedicated so much attention to Hall, other teams haven’t had much success shutting No. 24.

The Sharks retained their unblemished record improving to 10-0 on the season with a resounding 56-30 victory over Mount Saint Mary’s.

One couldn’t help but notice the show Hall put on in the big win. The senior forward showed why she will be playing Division I basketball next year at the University of Hartford Connecticut.

“Oh it felt great”, Hall professed. “I love playing with my teammates, passing the ball to them, distributing and winning most importantly. It was a great feeling being out there with my team.”

Hall’s remarkable skill set, leadership and passion for the game is what has helped her become one of the most talked about player in Western New York. Hall points to her training for the big season she is enjoying.

“Working out at Cutting Edge (training facility) definitely helps me a lot”, explained Hall. “I get in the gym at least once a week around 6 a.m. I work with my trainers for about an hour before school then I feel great for the day.”

Hall believes her hard work and dedication have helped her achieve the individual success that has garnered her a spot on Hartford’s roster next year, but the senior forward doesn’t believe she has reached the ceiling yet.

“I know I can always get better,” Hall said. “I feeling like I’m getting there, but, I want to get to the next level. And in order to get there I know I have to put in hard work.”

Sacred Heart head coach, Maria Pares, has been very pleased with Hall’s individual performance, as well as her effect on the rest of the team.

“[Hall] is an excellent team player. She and her teammates play off each other. They play wonderfully together,” Pares said.

Hall hopes and expects to end her high school career winning a state championship.

“I definitely expect to win a championship,” said Hall. “We know that we want that really badly and we feel that no one can take that away but ourselves.”

Leaving Sacred Heart a state champion would be a fitting way to end such a great career.
