Gowanda Freshman Panthers wow a sold-out stadium

ON THE PRO FIELD — Coaches Jaime Fort and Matt Tadt watch as the Panthers experience football plays on a professional field.

WAITING THEIR TURN — The Gowanda Freshmen Panthers are at junior stadium outside the Ralph Wilson Stadium, waiting to take to the field during halftime during a Bills pre-season game.
The Gowanda Freshman Panthers were given the opportunity to play during the halftime of the Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Pre-season Kids’ Day game. Gowanda was up against Lake Shore and each team got to run a few plays and, after a tough lose earlier in the day, the Panthers didn’t waste any time entertaining the 70,000-plus people in attendance. The Freshman Panthers gave up a touchdown, but came back strong, scoring a touchdown by Ethan Fort and then again by Gavin Phillips.
One can only imagine how an 8-9-year-old kid felt playing in front of a sold-out NFL Football stadium, and being able to take that as a building block and motivation to want to do that every Sunday.
