Ladies light up the courts

LANCASTER- It was the ladies turn to take center stage as the Lancaster Parks and Recreation Department women’s volleyball league opened up their 44th year of play on Thanksgiving Eve, Nov. 21. Founded five years after the formation of the men’s league, the women’s league this year features 29 teams in four divisions.

The co-ed league opened up their season Thursday, Nov. 29 now playing their games at Lancaster High School North gym.

Men’s League

Tuesday Night League: Good Tymes South-Besch opens up their season with a three to zero sweep of the Attack. Good Tymes South-Zeigler stays hot with a two to one win over Green Buffalo Pub-Batt. Frank’s-Payne is at .500 as they capture two of three from Sal’s-Rudz.

Wednesday Night “A” League: Elma Towne Grill-Schlesinger pulls out the brooms as they sweep Green Buffalo Pub-Klock three to zip. Team Steinel does likewise to the Free Agents three to zero.

Wednesday Night “B” League: Elma Towne Grille-Beltz sweep Green Buffalo Pub-Kicak three to zero while the Chucksters welcome the Bumpin Uglies to the league by sweeping them three to zero.

Women’s Article

“A” League: Perrinal power Good Tymes South-Weber opens strong, sweeping the Basil Ford Outlaws three to zero. Frank’s-Rudz captured two of three from Fireside Inn-Jansma. Green Buffalo Pub-Kremer took two of three from Galvaston’s, while Fireside Inn-Hubert did the same to Fassel’s Upholstery.

“B1” League: Good Tymes South-Schalberg starts the season on a good note as they “stuff” the Side Out Sisters three to zero. Frank’s Hot Saucies win two of three from the Deietrick Law Firm-Sutton, while Fireside Inn-Guari took the measure of Maryan’s two to one.

“B2” League: The Volleydolls take two of three from Hit ‘n Run. DeRonde Tire rolls over Frank’s-Wohlrab two to one, while newcomer Fireside Inn-Jerebko takes a pair from the Spinoffs.

“C” League: The “C” League opens with all sweeps. The Villagers dumped Bridal Chateau three to zero. The Desperate Housewives scratched three wins from the Caster Gurl. Serves You Right did right taking three from Good Tymes South-Rutkowski, while Smith’s Gun Shop gunned down the Nite Crew three to zero.
