WEST VALLEY — It was not about wins and losses for the modified girls volleyball team at West Valley Central School this year, according to Coach Amy Butler, who said that, even after a season-ending loss against Olean on Tuesday, Oct. 23, she was proud.
After the loss, she assured her team members that they “played hard against a very strong Olean team.” At the season’s conclusion, Butler said, “From the beginning to the end of the season, the team showed improvement in all areas. All players were able to successfully serve. All could pass a serve, the setters were able to set and the team had some great spikes.”
Butler said that her goal of modified sports was accomplished. “The players learned about time management, being a teammate, working hard to get better at something that was not easy, putting others first and trusting a coach to teach. In regards to the goal of modified sports, the team was very successful. Congratulations to all the girls on giving their best and working hard.”
