WVCS modified volleyball loses three games

WEST VALLEY — The modified volleyball team at West Valley began a three-game road trip on Monday, Oct. 1, but could not build any momentum. On Monday evening, West Valley played against Hinsdale, but dropped all three games. “Hinsdale was much stronger,” said Coach Amy Butler.

On the next night, West Valley visited Olean, for another road game. This time, the match lasted five games, but Olean prevailed with a 3-to-2 victory. “The games were close and competitive,” Butler said. “The teams were well-matched.” The final game was decided by 2 points, going in favor of Olean 30 – 28.

The final of the three games came on Thursday, Oct. 4, which saw West Valley lose 2 – 1 to Cattaraugus-Little Valley. Butler described her team’s performance as “a much better effort than the opening game,” which saw West Valley win game two in that set of games. The girls hosted Allegany-Limestone on Thursday, Oct. 11, before heading back out onto the road on Tuesday, Oct. 16 against Salamanca at 4:30 p.m.
