Midget Colts open season with a win

SPRINGVILLE –– The Springville Midget Colts opened their season on Sunday, Aug. 26 with a 24 – 6 win against the Pine Valley Longhorns.

Offensively, the Colts scored on the ground and in the air with 2 scores run in by Kyle Albrecht and a touchdown caught by Caleb Hibit. Special teams got on the scoreboard with a 75-yard punt return by Ian Baker. Springville's defense was in the Pine Valley backfield all day, holding the Longhorns offense to fewer than 40 total yards. Hibit had a pick-off and Jon Boberg added another pick-off and a fumble recovery.

Springville will travel to Randolph on Saturday, Sept. 1 to take on the Raiders.
