SPRINGVILLE — The JV girls soccer team at Springville-Griffith Institute had three losses before they made a goal. When that goal came, the team used it to defeat Maryvale 1–0 on Sept. 10. In the team’s next game, the streak continued.
Springville defeated Cheektowaga 5–1 on Thursday, Sept. 13, en route to its second win in as many games, to improve its record to 2–3. Jena Schelble had a hat trick, while Autumn Noeller and Kalee Schreiber each put one away. Schreiber, Noeller and Julia Krzemien each had one assist. The Lady Griffins hosted Hamburg on Monday, Sept. 17, but could not produce a win. However, the team did emerge with a 1–1 tie. Heading into a road game against East Aurora on Friday, Sept. 21, the girls were 2–3–1, riding a three-game unbeaten streak.
Springville will play next at 4:30 p.m. at home against Pioneer on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
