Springville-GI JV girls soccer posts three straight shutouts

“Carly Lamos played a great game at defense to help keep Lake Shore scoreless,” said Kerri Voit, the team’s coach. Emma Beckerich was between the pipes and got the shutout. Mikayla Black, Autumn Noeller and Brittany Sullivan all scored goals. Jena Scheble drew an assist.
On Thursday, Oct. 4, the girls were on the road against Maryvale, whom Springville shut out on Sept. 10 1 – 0. Springville earned its second consecutive shutout both against Maryvale and on the season, taking the game 3 – 0, to improve to 4 – 6 – 1, this fall. Through the first 11 games, Springville had three shutouts, while being shut out five times. Three games have featured goals by both teams and Springville is 1 – 1 – 1 in those contests.
Springville was back on the field on Friday, Oct. 5 in Eden, and the defense was perfect yet again, posting another 3 – 0 shutout. Emily Sion, Schelble and Carrie Dickinson beat the opposing net-minder for goals in that game, while Julia Kzremein registered 2 assists. Noeller notched an assist, as well, in the winning effort.
The team looked to extend its winning streak when it hosted Cheektowaga on Wednesday, Oct. 10 and traveled to Holland on Friday, Oct. 12. The team’s next game is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. at home versus East Aurora.
