The Senior Division New York State Little League Sectionals will be held in Springville this Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22.
Three games were scheduled for Saturday, to be held at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. At noon on Sunday, the top two teams will compete for the championship.
District 1 was set to play District 3 at 1 p.m. District 2 was scheduled against District 1 at 4 p.m., while Districts 2 and 3 were set for the final game of the day, at 7 p.m. If any team should win two games, it will automatically advance to the final game the next day. Conversely, should a team lose twice, it will be eliminated outright.
These games will feature 15- and 16-year-olds from all Little League programs west of Syracuse. There will be three teams, all of which will play twice on Saturday, before one team is eliminated, leaving the final two to show down on Sunday. In the case of a tie in team records, criteria such as head-to-head record and the average of runs allowed per inning will be taken into consideration to determine the top two teams.
Any decisions to cancel games will be posted on Springville Baseball’s website at www.springvillebaseball.com, which can be accessed for further information. All games will be played at Concord Community Park, located at 12750 Buffalo Road in Springville.
