Erin Menoff is award-winning rider

Gowanda middle school student Erin Menoff, 12, brought home several awards from the Appaloosa Horse Club's (ApHC) World Championship Appaloosa Youth Show held July 9-21, in Tulsa, Okla.

The ApHC is the international breed registry serving ApHC members and Appaloosa enthusiasts.

Erin earned two Reserve World Youth Championship titles while competing against youth riders ages 13 and under from all over the world.

Erin and her horse, “This Juice is Smokin',” (also known as “Cowboy”), took the first reserve title in the sport of Reining. Her second title came in the timed event of Keyhole aboard “Ima Frosty Hollywood” (also known as “Homer”).

She also rode Homer to a sixth-place finish in the Figure 8 Stake Race and the Nez Perce Stake Race, and earned an eighth place in the Camas Prairie Stump Race.

The award-winning equestrian is coached by Kim and Kelly Hedges of Hedges Show Horses.

Erin is the daughter of Dr. Jeffrey and Lori Menoff, owners of Nash Hill Equestrian Center in Gowanda.
