Gowanda Youth JV Panthers win a close one

The Gowanda Youth JV Panthers played the leagues defending champion West Seneca East at Hillis Field on Sept. 1. The Panthers played an all-around great game, holding last years champ’s to a 7-0 shutout win.
The Panther offense was lead by Caleb Maloney with112 yards rushing and the game’s only touchdown. Jacob Hostetter got in on the action with 37 yards rushing and added the extra point.
The tough Panther defense planned a solid game and held West Seneca at bay. The defense was led by Ryan Gernatt, who had 5 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 assists. Caleb Maloney added 5 tackles and 3 assists. Michael Liszkiewicz and 3 tackles with 5 assists and Aaron Henhawk helped with 3 tackles, 1 assist with a fumble recovery. Jacob Hostetter and Nick Siragusa each added 1 tackle and 1 assist; both had an interception.
The Youth JV Panthers will be in action in West Seneca and at home vs. Lake Shore on Sept. 15 at Hillis Field.
