Gowanda 13 Prep is 4-0

On May 1, the Gowanda 13-Prep Baseball Team played Falconer and came out with a 9-6 victory.
Leading the way were Austin Gearman and Harly Menhert with one hit and one RBI each. Gowanda’s pitching came through as Matthew Kruszka pitched five innings and recorded eight strikeouts. Chris Cook came in and closed out the final two innings with three strikeouts.
Gowanda was 2-0 at that point.
On May 3, the Gowanda 13-Prep team traveled to Cassadaga to face Gerry. Gowanda came out with the 9-3 victory.
Leading the way for Gowanda was Justin Kehr, and Chris Cook, who both recorded two hits. Dylan Luther and Austin Gearman both recorded one hit. Matthew Christopher started the game on the mound and pitched the first three innings as he struck out four. Jack VanWey pitched three innings; he recorded three strikeouts. Chris Cook came into the seventh inning, getting one strikeout and shutting Gerry’s offense down.
Gowanda was 3-0 with their next game against Lakewood.
On May 5, the Gowanda 13-Prep Baseball Team hosted Lakewood and came out to a 12-3 victory.
Leading the way was Dylan Luther, who had one hit and two RBI. Justin Kehr, Matthew Christopher, Mathew Kruszka, Chris Cook, Koty Cook, and Austin Gearman each recorded one hit. Gowanda’s defense was the key to its victory. Brandon Arrigo made many defensive plays at catcher and ran down a couple fly balls.
Gowanda is undefeated with a 4-0 record.
