S&S Taxidermy Thunder defeats West Valley in back-to-back matches

On Thursday, June 21, the S&S Taxidermy Thunder of Springville competed against the West Valley junior division team, sponsored by A&D Engles, in a softball match.Springville Youth Incorporated Little League Board of Directors President Brian Stedman said, “SYI and West Valley [Little League] have coexisted for years and it has worked out well.”

The West Valley team started the match ahead of Springville 1-0, but the Thunder ended its home game with an 8 – 7 win.Both teams also played each other in a rematch in West Valley on June 22, with Springville’s winning this game as well 10-4.
West Valley Coach Karl Sheffield said, following the matches, that he was “happy to see the enthusiasm the girls show when playing for West Valley.”
He added, “We have had great participation from both players and fans.”

West Valley’s next game will be held July 2 at Concord Community Park at 6:15 p.m., as the players face another Springville junior division team, sponsored by Tops.The next match for the Thunder will be held July 9 against Boston at the Boston Town Park.
Both the West Valley junior division team and the S&S Taxidermy Thunder will meet again on Wednesday, July 11 at Concord Community Park at 6:15 p.m. for what may be one of the final matches before the playoffs.
