Thunder strikes against West Valley in SYI junior varsity championship

SPRINGVILLE –– The Thunder junior varsity softball team, sponsored by S&S Taxidermy, won the Springville Youth Incorporated championship against the West Valley team. The score was 15 – 6.

“It was a great game!” said Coach Brian Stedman.

TAKE A LAP –– A Thunder player rounds the bases during a recent match. The team, sponsored by S&S Taxidermy, won the SYI JV championship.

“Madison McCrory pitched the entire game [and there Westwas] great hitting from Carrie Dickenson, Ryan and Riley Stedman and Jen Kessler and solid defense from the entire team helped us pull ahead and seal the win.”

Stedman also noted that “West Valley has a great team and coaches and played us hard, all year.”

BATTER UP –– The Thunder’s MacKenzie Czapla shows the opposing team what she’s made of, on the mound.

The Thunder coach congratulated the Thunder’s opponents on their season, as well.

“I am very proud of all my girls. They worked very hard this year and it paid off,” Stedman concluded.

The coach also thanked his co-coaches, Mike McCrory and Nicole Paler.
