West Valley junior varsity volleyball loses to Sherman

WEST VALLEY — The West Valley girls junior varsity volleyball team hosted Sherman on Tuesday, Oct. 9 and fell 2 – 1, despite winning the first game of the match.

A 26 – 24 win in game one was followed by a 25 – 15 loss in the next game that evened up the score. Game three featured another game in which Sherman prevailed 25 – 23.

“As the scores show, it was a close match against a solid Sherman team,” said JV volleyball team Coach April Preston.

“I am very happy with the way the team is developing throughout the season and I am looking forward to coaching the team as they finish their season playing their best volleyball.”

Madison Czapla had 20 service points in the match against Sherman, while scoring 3 aces in the losing effort.

The girls’ next game was held on Oct. 16 in North Collins. That game was followed by a home game on Thursday, Oct. 18 at home against Brocton.

The game against Brocton completed West Valley’s schedule for the season.
